La Barceloneta (Catalan pronunciation: [ɫə βərsəɫuˈnɛtə]) is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.The neighborhood was constructed during the 18th century, is roughly triangular in shape, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the Moll d’Espanya of Port Vell and the El Born neighborhood. Barceloneta beach has long earned it’s status as one of THE urban beaches in the world (despite artifically created sand banks). And even though the whole quarter is literally flooded with tourists during the warm seasons, you are are still able to find some nice little spots to enjoy authentic, tasty Tapas and a cerveza mucho frío.
