Alpine Space-Needle. Broadcasting Tower Aelpele, Vorarlberg, Austria.

The “TV Broadcasting Tower Älpele” is located within the “Nördliche Kalkalpen” mountain complex, at Dünserberg and measures 1554 meters above sea level. It was built in the early sixties, thus perfectly reflecting the influence of the “space-age” on local architecture. The array of antennas has meanwhile declined and the signals have changed, nevertheless it is still vitial for the Walgau Valley’s population.
